On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, we held a productive meeting with the Hotel and Restaurant Association to delve deeper into the pressing issue of waste management in Bandung. The discussion focused on finding sustainable alternatives to replace the current practice of dumping waste into landfills, which is neither environmentally friendly nor economical in the long run. Together with the association and the Bandung City Ministry of Environment, we explored innovative solutions to address the growing waste crisis.
Bandung generates around 800 tons of organic waste every day, not including waste from the West Bandung area and Bandung Regency. This enormous amount highlights a critical issue, not only for Bandung but also for cities around the world. The challenges posed by organic waste require immediate attention and innovative approaches to prevent further environmental degradation as well as utilize waste as a valuable resource.
Bio Ark is committed to turning these challenges into opportunities. Our approach focuses on transforming organic waste into highly nutritious inputs for landscape and agricultural use. This approach not only reduces the environmental impact of waste disposal, but also creates a circular economy that benefits both urban and agricultural communities. By turning waste that was previously considered useless into resources, we aim to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
During the meeting, we emphasized the potential for collaboration to develop a sustainable and economically viable waste management model. By working together, we can align the needs of the city with Bio Ark's expertise and capabilities, creating a solution that benefits all parties.
This meeting marks an important step in addressing Bandung's organic waste challenges, and we look forward to continuing these discussions and translating our vision into action.
The discussion focused on how Bio Ark can help address organic waste management issues in Bandung City.
